Larry Garner is Director of Church Services for Metro Baptist Association. He works with churches in the greater metro area of Jackson. He has served local churches in Mississippi, Florida, and Alabama as pastor and minister of education.
Besides serving local churches, Larry has served the Mississippi Baptist Convention and the Baptist Sunday School Board. He was an associate in the Discipleship Training Department of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board. Following that, he joined the staff of the Discipleship Training Department at the Baptist Sunday School Board. For seven years, he designed and edited youth and adult discipleship resources including Baptist Youth, The Doctrine of Christ and modules in the Equipping Center system.
Larry is an author and conference leader. His works include Learning and Serving: New Member Training, Teaching to Make a Difference, A Deacon Ministry That Works, Gifts of Grace, Five Handles for Getting a Grip on Your Sunday School, and Developing Deacon Ministry Teams. Articles have been featured in Sunday School Leadership, Discipleship Training Magazine, Baptist Adults, and Children’s Leadership. He is a contributor to the single adult leadership resource entitled The Single Adult Solution for Life Way Christian Resources. He designed and edited a resource against gambling for the Mississippi Baptist Convention entitled Tables of Fortune. Along with Dr. David Tiller, he has developed a seminar based on the teaching ministry of Jesus entitled Teaching Like Jesus. His current release is Reclaiming the Real Jesus with Dr. Ivan Parke. |
